==== Description ====
The 5170 was a AT layout keyboard produced by Advanced Datum Information (ADI).\\ Currently, two models of the 5170 are documented: the KM-5170 with Cherry MX Black switches, and KI-5170 with ADI Inductive switches.\\ Most documented examples of this keyboard have been found in Europe, and most documented re-badges are for European computer brands, which suggests the keyboard was primarily produced for the European market.
==== Construction ====
=== Case and Internals ===
The keyboard consists of three parts: a ABS top and bottom case, and an internal assembly
==Top case==
Externally, the top case has a pen holder and a lock-light sticker on the top right corner.\\ Internally, it has a cable gutter for routing the cable from the PCB to the cable cutout, cutouts for the lock-lights, threaded plastic standoffs to both hold the assembly in place and keep the case together, and a sticker for the keyboard's model number, part number and other manufacturing information.
==Bottom case==
Externally, the bottom case has eight screws to secure the assembly and case, a model sticker showing the keyboard's model number, serial number and country of origin, and six total feet. two being flip-out feet for adjusting the keyboard's angle and four being non-slip feet.\\ Internally, it features the flip-out feet mechanism and a sticker with identical information to the one found internally on the top case.
==Assembly==
The assembly consists of a PCB and a painted steel plate.
=== Keycaps ===
The keycaps are ABS doubleshot and use pad printing for region-specific sublegends.\\ The font and profile of these keycaps is shared by several other keyboards, primarily Hottek models, which suggests ADI did not manufacture them.
