The stem, which is a green color, is always lubricated and is likely made of a nylon blend((supposition based on materials in first generation SKCM/SKCL)). Alps SKCC Green, like all SKCC series switches, uses a contact module to register the keypress. This sits in the middle of the housing opposite the spring. ==== Additional Information ==== The switch was likely in production from as early as 1983((Earliest sighting: IBM "Pingmaster")) to at least 1989((As replacement switches, with short contact module)). The switch is significantly less common than its sibling, [[switch:alps_skcc_cream|SKCC Cream]]. It was also available in an LED variant. The LED version of the switch has a different housing that allows for a bent metal contact to be inserted over the top of the switch. Two springs are welded or soldered to the contact and the LED is suspended between them. ==== Gallery ==== :switch:skccbkled.jpg {{tag>switch:oem-alps switch:type-linear switch:sense-contact switch:family-skcc}}
