The Alps KFF Series, sometimes referred to as SKFF2) or Alps vertical plate spring, is a series of keyboard switches made by Alps Electric in the late 1970s-1980s.
The switch was designed with double-action in mind, with two vertical plate spring modules able to be inserted either side of the stem. In the base switch, there is a single plate spring module, which is actuated by a plastic rocker that the spring rests on. When the switch is depressed, the stem compresses the spring and eventually presses on the rocker in the plate spring module, which inverts the plate spring from behind to bridge the two contacts, closing the circuit.
