Description

The Alps CF10A012AA is an AT-layout PC keyboard with Alps switches. It is unknown if the keyboard was procured for a particular system, however, this is unlikely given the lack of any branding other than the OEM label.

Little documentation of the keyboard itself exists, however, the board's construction appears nearly identical to other AT-layout keyboards at the time that used Alps SKCL/SKCM switches.

Construction

Case

The case bears a visually strong resemblance to other AT-layout keyboards of the time, such as the Packard Bell KCLEA916A, Epson AP1003A, and Ardent Model 130⋅0002⋅01, all of which were procured by either Alps Electric or Gold Star Alps.

The bottom case features standard-sized adjustable flip out feet and two non-slip square feet, along with six screw sockets and four visible clips. Four additional round holes are present as part of the tray mount; these extrude upwards as part of the plastic pegs that retain the mounting plate/PCB in the tray. The coiled, non-removable 5P DIN cable runs straight out from the back of the bottom tray.

The sticker only provides a model number and S/N, where the OEM can be easily identified with an Alps code and the Alps branding.

Switches

This keyboard has been documented with Alps SKCM Blue.

Keycaps

The keycaps appear to be made by Alps Electric, and are likely dye-sublimated PBT. There do not appear to be homing bumps on either the alphanumeric cluster or the keypad.
