The Apple Desktop Bus Keyboard was introduced by Apple in 1986 and sold with the Apple IIGS, which introduced the protocol.
Variants
Early Alps Version
The early version of the ADB keyboard was made in Japan and features a simple rear label with the model number 658-4081. It came with Alps SKCM Orange switches and dye-sub PBT keycaps.
SMK Version
The SMK version of the ADB keyboard was made in Taiwan and has a more complex rear label with the model number A9M0330. It came with SMK Alps Mount switches and double-shot ABS keycaps which are different in color and height to the Alps ones.
Later Alps Version
The later Alps version keyboard was made in Japan and features the same rear label and model number as the SMK version. It came with Alps SKCM Salmon switches and dye-sub PBT keycaps.
