The Cordata 991A100406 was a Daewoo produced AT layout keyboard for the Cordata CS-4200 computer system. It uses Futaba MA Inverse Cross Mount switches and ABS Doubleshots
Description
In late 1985, Daewoo acquired a 70% stake in Corona Data Systems; afterward, the company rebranded to Cordata to dissociate from it's PC clone past. As part of the agreement for Daewoo's stake, Daewoo produced Cordata's computer systems, including its keyboards.
The 991A100406 was produced for the Cordata CS-4200 computer system, which was available as early as June 1986, likely making the 991A100406 one of the first keyboards produced under the Cordata brand.
Construction
Case and Internals
The keyboard consists of three parts. A top case, a bottom case and a internal assembly.
The top case is made of ABS plastic and uses a distincive design, featuring a recessed channel near the top of the keyboard that likely served as a penholder.
Externally, it has the Cordata logo in it's top left corner.
Internally, it has eight plastic standoffs: 6 for fastening the top and bottom case pieces together and 2 for fastening the assembly.
The bottom case is made of ABS plastic.
Externally, it has six feet in total: four non-slip feet and two flip-out feet for adjusting the keyboard's angle, as well as a sticker with a part number, serial number, Daewoo branding and country of origin.
Internally it has a sticker of unknown purpose and the flip-out feet mechanism.
The assembly consists of two parts: a plate and PCB.
The plate is made of painted steel and has a grounding point for the PCB.
The PCB only has a 'D.S' marking, leaving the manufacturer of the assembly ambiguous.
Keycaps
The keycaps use Futaba's Inverse Cross Mount and are ABS Doubleshots, with the exception of the windowed caps which are PBT Dye-sub.
