The SKB-5050 was an AT keyboard produced by Podworld1) and was presumably the predecessor to the SKB-5150.
Description
Currently, two versions are documented: a standard US English SKB-5050 fully produced by Podworld and a Russian SKB-5050 that uses a third-party PCB.
Construction
Case and Internals
The keyboard consists of three parts: a ABS top and bottom case, and an internal assembly
Top case
Externally, it has a pen holder and a lock-light sticker in the top-right corner.
Internally, it has threaded plastic standoffs for fastening the top and bottom case together and for fastening the assembly to the top case.
Bottom case
Externally, it has an AT/XT switch cutout, a QC sticker, a “sup” sticker (likely a date of manufacture sticker), and a sticker with the model number and series number, which is likely a serial number. It also has six total feet: two flip-out feet and four non-slip feet Internally, it has a cutout for the DIN-5 cable.
Assembly
The assembly consists of a PCB and a painted steel switch mounting plate that is cross-compatible between SMK Vintage Linear and Cherry MX.
The top of the PCB has a PD-18 marking, and the top of the switch mounting plate has SKB 5050 stamped into it under where the spacebar would go.
The bottom of the PCB has a PD-18 marking and a sticker of unknown use.
Keycaps
The keycaps are made by Tai-Hao in their TH profile and are a mix of ABS doubleshots and pad-prints.
